Inmarsat is the leading provider of global mobile satellite communications. Providing voice and highspeed data services to almost anywhere on the planet - on land, at sea and in the air. Inmarsat services are delivered through the most versatile and reliable satellite network in the world. Inmarsat own and operate 10 satellites in geostationary orbit 35,786km above the Earth, controlled from their HQ in London via ground stations located around the globe. Included in their fleet there are two of the latest generation satellites, the Inmarsat-4s (I-4s), which were launched in 2005. Together, they provide coverage to around 85 per cent of the world’s landmass and 98 per cent of the world’s population.
